Ordering a pie from across the state — or across several states — works because we pack everything frozen solid in an insulated box with dry ice, then hand it off to a 2-day carrier (FedEx or UPS, depending on your area). If the timing lines up right, a pie leaves our kitchen on Tuesday and lands on your doorstep by Thursday, still cold and ready to warm up in your oven.
What's in the box
Each insulated shipping box holds up to two standard 9-inch pies. Flat shipping rate is $24 per box, no matter if you fill it with one pie or two — so if you're ordering for a group, it's worth topping up. Pies are wrapped, frozen, and packed with enough dry ice to stay cold through the 2-day transit window.
One thing to know: the Banana Cream is the one pie we don't ship. The custard doesn't survive the freeze-and-thaw gracefully, and Clarisse refuses to let it go out the door in anything less than perfect shape. For Banana Cream, you'll want to come in or order local delivery.
Cutoff and delivery timing
- Order by Monday at noon ET and your box ships Tuesday.
- Most addresses in the continental US receive it by Thursday.
- We ship to the continental US only — sorry, no Alaska, Hawaii, or international orders at this time.
You'll get a tracking email automatically once the carrier scans the box. Occasionally the scan lags a few hours after pickup, so if the link looks quiet right after you get the email, give it until evening.
Requesting a specific delivery date
You can ask for a particular delivery date when you place your order, and we'll do our best to hit it. That said, during holiday weeks the carrier schedules get unpredictable, so we can't guarantee a specific date the way we can in a quiet week in March. If your pie is for an event with a hard deadline, placing the order a few days early is the safest move.
Holiday cutoffs
The calendar gets tight fast around the big food holidays:
- Thanksgiving: last orders accepted the Friday before Thanksgiving at 5pm ET
- Christmas: last orders accepted December 18 at 5pm ET — anything after that ships in January
We post reminders on the site as those dates approach, but it's worth bookmarking if you're planning ahead.
