Every pie we bake comes out of one shared kitchen — and that kitchen handles wheat, dairy, eggs, tree nuts (pecans and walnuts), and soy every single day. If you or someone you're baking for has a serious allergy, that's the most important thing to know before you order.
What's in our kitchen
There is no such thing as a completely allergen-free pie at Perfect Pies. Here's what's present in the kitchen at all times:
- Wheat — in every crust we make
- Dairy — butter, cream, condensed milk, feta, and more
- Eggs — custards, washes, most fillings
- Tree nuts — pecans and walnuts (the Pecan Pie alone goes through pounds a week)
- Soy — present in the Chocolate Silk and some of our baking chocolate
Cross-contact is possible with every pie we sell, even ones that don't list a particular allergen in their ingredients. Equipment, surfaces, and hands move between recipes throughout the day.
What we're not
We are not a certified gluten-free facility. We are not a nut-free facility. We don't currently offer vegan, gluten-free, or sugar-free versions of any pie — and we're not going to tell you otherwise just to make a sale. If your allergy or dietary restriction is severe, the honest answer is that our kitchen probably isn't the right fit, and we'd rather point you toward a bakery that can genuinely accommodate you than put you at risk.
What Clarisse will do for you
Every allergen question that comes into Perfect Pies goes straight to Clarisse, our head baker. She knows every ingredient in every pie — down to which brand of chocolate we use in the Silk and where the pecans come from. When you reach out, she'll:
- Confirm exactly what's in the specific pie you're asking about
- Be straight with you about cross-contact risk
- Suggest an alternative from our menu if there's one that fits better
- Tell you plainly if nothing on our menu is a safe choice for your situation
She won't tell you something is "safe" if she can't actually back that up. That's just how she works, and we think it's the right way.
How to reach us
If you have an allergen question before you order, please don't guess — just ask. Email us at support@perfectpies.club with the pie you're interested in and the allergy you're working around. Clarisse typically responds the same day during shop hours (Tuesday through Friday 8am–6pm, Saturday 8am–5pm, Sunday 9am–3pm). You can also call the shop at (717) 555-0142 and ask for her directly.
Got a question Clarisse didn't cover, or something more specific than what's here? Drop us a line at support@perfectpies.club — we'd rather hear from you than have you wonder.
